INTERMEDIATE. LESSON #14.
Appelons demain.

- What rent could we afford ?
- I think it would be better not to go higher than 1000 €. We could maybe say 1100 € but not more.
- So, there’s not a lot a choice left, even if we go through real estate office.
- On the classified, there’s three left. The first one is 1030 €, the second one is 1070 € and the third one is 1085 €.
- Are we calling ?
- If I wasn’t afraid to disturb, I would but it’s a little late. Let’s call tomorrow.

Agence immobilière (fém.) : real estate office. Appeler (au téléphone), téléphoner : to call. Déranger, troubler : to disturb. |
In this lesson, we have again conditional forms pourrait-on, il ne faudrait pas, j’appellerais. Nothing new about that. Just get used to these forms. Let’s continue to count.
Attention ! When the word cent is followed by a number as in 201, it takes no –s at the end. That’s why we write : deux cents but deux cent un. You can now count to 1000 which is mille. In this lesson, we have different numbers. Let’s read them together : 1100 is mille cent. 1030 is mille trente 1070 is mille soixante-dix 1085 is mille quatre-vingt-cinq. |
