Virer is a colloquial word which means to get rid of, to fire, to throw out or to expell, depending on the context. |

Faire tenir : to fit into. Dépendre : to depend. Oncle (masc.) : uncle. Tante (fém.) : aunt. Liste (fém.) : list. |

Sachant is a present participle. To form it, you take the verb at the nous form at the present tense then you remove the –ons and replace it with -–ant.
Aimer ? nous aimons ? aim- ? aimant
Finir ? nous finissons ? finiss- ? finissant. Voir ? nous voyons ? voy- ? voyant. Of course there are exceptions and savoir is one of them.
être ? étant ; avoir ? ayant ; savoir ? sachant.
The present participle can be used : 1. as a verbal form
Sachant qu’il y a des gens qui ne peuvent pas venir, on peut partir sur cent.
2. as an adjectiveMa voisine ? Je la revois souriant à ses enfants. (= My neighbour ? I can still see her smiling to her kids.) Elle pleurait espérant son retour. (She was crying expecting for his return.) In that case, it agrees with the noun it qualifies.
