- Comme tu es malade, je vais te raconter une histoire, Vic.« Il était une fois, un petit Prince qui vivait avec sa mère, la Reine, dans un château magnifique. C’était un petit Prince très gentil mais très triste. Son papa, un roi grand, fort et respecté de tous lui manquait beaucoup. Le Prince n’était pas sûr d’avoir tout compris. Il entendait les mots guerre, blessure, cercueil, paradis… Une chose était sûre : il était seul avec sa mère. »

Il était une fois : Once upon a time. Prince (masc.) : prince. Reine (fém.) : queen. Roi (masc.) : king. Fort, forte : strong. Respecté, respectée : respected. Blessure (fém.) : wound. Cercueil (masc.) : coffin. Paradis (masc.) : heaven, paradise. A suivre : to be continued. |
Fairy tales always begin with the expression « Il était une fois… ». Notice that the verb is conjugate at the imparfait tense. This tense is the one we use at the beginning of a story to present the situation. |
Translate in English : 1. Il était une fois une belle princesse. 2. La reine aimait beaucoup sa petite fille. 3. Le roi attendait la fin de la guerre. Translate in French : 1.
